Nepali and Bangla translations of Nonkilling Global Political Science Published
Two new translations of Glenn D. Paige’s book Nonkilling Global Political Science have been released over the past weeks: Nepali and Bangla. Both translations were done locally by CGNK Research Committee members Dr. Pradeep Dhakal, who serves as Director of the Chetanalaya Institute for Humanity, Peace & Spirituality, in Nepal, and Dr. Rashida Khanam, Professor of Political Science at the University of Chittagong, Bangladesh. These two translations make the important nonkilling proposal contained in the book available to an additional 17 million Nepali speakers and the 210 million speakers of Bangla.
The Bangla edition (ISBN 978-984-91037-0-7) has been published by the A H Development Publishing House, an academic publisher in Dhaka that serves the scholarly community, and can be purchased directly by contacting the publisher (ahdphbd@gmail.com). The Nepali edition (ISBN 978-993-72862-4-4) can be obtained directly from the Chetanalaya Institute for Humanity, Peace & Spirituality. Book launchs and presentations will follow in both Nepal and Bangladesh. The Nepali Ahinsatmak Rajnaitik Vigyan was actually officially released in Hawaii with Glenn D. Paige in September during Dr. Pradeep Dhakal’s visit to Honolulu.
The publication of these translation follow the focus of the Center for Global Nonkilling on disseminating knowledge on nonkilling capabilities in key languages across the world, considering present and recent conflicts, implication in regional politics and position in the Global Peace Index. Both books emerged as independent projects of their respective translators and publishers, guaranteeing a wide dissemination and discussion within their linguistic and cultural settings. In the next months CGNK will also publish new translations including Khmer, Japanese and Sundanese.
