  • Nonkilling Discussed in Medellín, Colombia

    September 2009. The Center for Global Nonkilling is a co-sponsor of the "Somos Paz" ("We Are Peace") Week that will be held in Medellín, Colombia, from September 20-27. Medellín is Colombia's second largest city and has historically suffered from high levels of violence due to gang activities, internal displacement, drug cartels and military, guerrilla and paramilitary operations. Luis Javier Botero, CGNK Education and Training Team Leader will participate with a lecture on nonkilling at the University of Antioquia on September 22.

    This series of lectures and debates celebrates the United Nations' International Peace Day and is also includes the participation of other organizations as EAFIT University, the Colombian National Police, the World March for Peace and Nonviolence or the Brahma Kumaris World Spiritual University.
